- To increase knowledge and understanding of Blood Borne Viruses
Learning Outcomes
By the end of the session delegates will have:
- Explored prevalence of BBVs within Scotland
- Identified transmission routes and explore the issues relating to testing for BBVs (this includes how to test)
- Increased their knowledge regarding referral pathways for testing, treatment and support
- Explored prevention/ risk reduction measures for these clients
- Have an awareness of the NHSGGC HIV Anti-Stigma Campaign
- Gained an understanding of the GGC policy on management of Occupational/ Non-Occupational exposure to BBVs including PEP/PEPSE

- This session is a basic starter or refresher aimed at participants who wish to increase their knowledge of Blood Borne Viruses including current diagnosis and treatment pathways.
