Course overview

By the end of the session delegates will have:

Explored prevalence of BBVs within Scotland
Identified transmission routes and explore the issues relating to testing for BBVs (this includes how to test)
Increased their knowledge regarding referral pathways for testing, treatment and support
Explored prevention/ risk reduction measures for these clients
Have an awareness of the NHSGGC HIV Anti-Stigma Campaign
Gained an understanding of the GGC policy on management of Occupational/ Non-Occupational exposure to BBVs including PEP/PEPSE

Course provider

This session is a basic starter or refresher aimed at participants who wish to increase their knowledge of Blood Borne Viruses including current diagnosis and treatment pathways.
