Milngavie Town Hall was the place to be on Saturday, as COVID vaccinations for the over 80s continued at pace.
In total, six GP surgeries came together in Milngavie on Saturday. In total, across East Dunbartonshire, teams from 15 surgeries were able to vaccinate 1,400 people on Saturday alone.
One of those was local GP, Dr Paul Treon.
He said: “It was a really exciting day for me and all the teams involved. It was encouraging to see such a good turnout of our elderly patients, who braved the chilly day to get their vaccination.
“Staff at GP surgeries across GGC are working hard to arrange and deliver vaccinations as quickly as vaccine becomes available.
“There was a real sense of seeing light at the end of the tunnel having been through what we have all suffered over the last year. Now we feel as though we are reaching a point where there’s a future we can look forward to when we can see our elderly relatives, friends and family again.
“My thanks go to everyone involved in making Saturday such a success, including East Dunbartonshire Voluntary Action volunteers, Community Health and Social Care staff and employees of East Dunbartonshire Council and East Dunbartonshire Leisure Trust.”
