Celebrating success at the NHS Greater Glasgow & Clyde North Sector Awards

  • 3 min read

The NHS Greater Glasgow and Clyde North Sector awards recognise the members of staff and teams who go over and above their daily roles to provide excellence in patient care within their departments.

This year’s awards took place on Tuesday, 28 February at the Friends of Glasgow Royal Infirmary Museum where members of staff joined in person for the first time since the Covid-19 pandemic. Other team members were also able to join virtually to recognise the exceptional dedication and hard work undertaken across the sector in 2022/23.

Five categories were recognised on the night with a number of worthy nominations for each individual award.

Each of the five winners will move forward into the NHS Greater Glasgow Excellence awards that will take place in May this year.

North Sector Director Neil McCallum led the awards ceremony and highlighted how important it is to recognise the extraordinary achievements and work that goes on across the sector.

He said: “I am immensely proud of the work that goes on within the North Sector and I think these awards highlight how valuable our members of staff are.

“It is a great opportunity to recognise the individuals and teams and I would like to pass on my congratulations to our winners who are truly inspirational.

“I would like to extend my thanks to all who took part and submitted nominations for these years awards.

“There is a huge array of talent across the sector and I would encourage other members of staff to submit nominations for next year’s awards as we really want to showcase our staff and the excellent levels of patient care we provide.

“I would also like to thank the Friends of GRI group who kindly provided a fantastic venue steeped in history for the location of this year’s awards.”
